Catherine McCarron

Catherine graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2016 with BSc. Physiotherapy (Honours) degree. She then completed her rotations in MSK outpatients, inpatient neurology and orthopaedics in Monaghan/Cavan Primary Care. Catherine moved to Galway in late 2018 and started her new role in Galway Primary Care which included adult outpatient neurological rehabilitation and clients with complex disabilities.

Catherine has a special interest in technology and in particular bringing technology into the world of physiotherapy. She was involved in getting virtual classes set up in Galway during the COVID 19 pandemic and helped to train staff members on how to use Tynedale computer software when it was rolled out in the department.

Catherine moved to Axon Rehab in 2021 as she wanted to pursue a career in neurological rehabilitation. She believes that intensive neurological rehabilitation, combined with robotics and hands on treatment is the most successful formula to improve function and mobility. She has trained in PTTI Pilates and incorporates this into her treatment approach when prescribing a suitable exercise programme for clients.
